Volunteer Opportunities- Three(3) Roles Available

Sanuvia Food Systems Wellbeing Initiative is inviting passionate and committed individuals to join our team as volunteers and contribute to our work through research, stakeholder engagement, communication and social media.

We currently have three volunteer positions open. These opportunities are suitable for individuals who want to gain practical experience, contribute to meaningful initiatives, expand their professional networks, and support efforts to improve animal welfare and food systems.

1. Research Volunteer

Help generate evidence for better animal welfare and food systems

We are looking for a curious and analytical Research Volunteer to support Sanuvia's research and evidence-generation work on animal welfare and food systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct  desk research and synthesize evidence on animal welfare, food systems, livestock production, sustainability, policies, and related topics.

  • Support research and project ideation by identifying knowledge gaps, developing research questions, exploring potential project areas, and identifying relevant data sources.

  • Support the design and development of baseline studies and preliminary research for potential Sanuvia projects.

  • Prepare research briefs, evidence summaries, reports, and policy materials, while tracking emerging research and developments to identify opportunities relevant to Sanuvia’s work.

Ideal Candidate

  • Have an interest in animal welfare, food systems, agriculture, veterinary and animal science, sustainability, public policy, law, social science, or related fields.

  • Have good research, analytical, and information-gathering skills.

  • Can communicate research findings clearly in writing.

  • Are able to work independently, manage tasks, and meet agreed deadlines.

  • Are curious, willing to learn, and committed to Sanuvia's mission.

2. Stakeholder Engagement Volunteer

Help us build relationships that create meaningful change

We are seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Volunteer to support Sanuvia's efforts to connect with policymakers, organizations, professionals, institutions, communities, and other stakeholders who can contribute to better animal welfare and food systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help identify and map relevant stakeholders, organisations, institutions, policymakers, researchers, professional bodies, and potential partners working on animal welfare and food systems.

  • Support stakeholder outreach and engagement by preparing emails, invitations, meeting briefs, engagement materials, and follow-up communications.

  • Support and, when appropriate and with prior authorization, represent Sanuvia at relevant meetings, workshops, conferences, consultations, and other program activities, including documenting key discussions and follow-up actions.

  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships and identify opportunities for collaboration, research, partnerships, and joint activities that support Sanuvia’s programs and objectives.

Ideal Candidate

  • Have strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Are comfortable communicating with people from different professional and organizational backgrounds.

  • Can represent Sanuvia professionally and respectfully.

  • Have an interest in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, policy, partnerships, or related areas.

3. Communication & Social Media Volunteer

Help tell our story and amplify the case for better animal welfare and food systems

We are looking for a creative and motivated Communication & Social Media Volunteer to help Sanuvia communicate its work, engage audiences, and raise awareness about animal welfare and food systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and adapt social media content, captions, and short-form communications that make animal welfare and food systems issues accessible and engaging.

  • Support the communication of Sanuvia's research, projects, events, campaigns, and advocacy activities across relevant digital platforms.

  • Help develop simple visual and multimedia content, and contribute ideas for improving Sanuvia's online presence and audience engagement.

Ideal Candidate

We welcome applicants who:

  • Have an interest in communications, social media, storytelling, journalism, marketing, advocacy, or related fields.

  • Have strong writing, editing, and communication skills.

  • Are creative and able to communicate complex ideas in a clear and engaging way.

  • Have an understanding of social media platforms and digital communication.

  • Are proactive, organized, and comfortable working independently.

  • Have experience with Canva, graphic design, photography, video, content creation, or social media management an advantage, but not required.

Work Arrangement

These are virtual / hybrid volunteer opportunities. Volunteers will be able to contribute remotely while participating in selected team meetings, activities, and events where applicable.

Specific responsibilities, schedules, and expected time commitments will be discussed with successful candidates based on the position and the needs of ongoing projects.
